Academic/Graduation Requirements

UPA's graduation requirements emphasize the traditional university preparatory courses of English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Foreign Language, and the visual/performing Arts. These courses are taught in a real world context that challenges each student to think beyond the subject matter that is being presented and continually place new information in the context of their own knowledge base.

The mission of University Preparatory Academy Charter School, in partnership with the community, is to provide an exceptional education that prepares students to enroll and be successful in the best colleges and universities in our nation. It is also UPS's goal that students graduate as successful members of our democratic society. Therefore, the graduation requirements stated below have been established. The graduation requirements encompass the knowledge, abilities, and experience necessary to be successful in college and develop the essential aptitudes and skills needed in today's society: behavior of character, communication, citizenship, intellect, self-direction, teamwork, wellbeing, and productivity.
